Róisín Murphy is without a doubt one of the most talented, innovative, and stylish musicians of our generation. Starting her career in the acclaimed dance group, Moloko, Murphy became an instant sensation not only because of her amazing energy, but also because of her incredible and unique sound. Today, Róisín now hails solo, creating some of the most amazing beats we've heard in this entire decade. Her identity is so sought-after that there has been numerous claims that other pop sensations, aka Lady Gaga, have copied her style. Although this is blatantly obvious, Murphy does not seem to mind and has taken such actions as compliments. One thing is clear, though: the biggest difference between Róisín and Lady Gaga is talent. La Gaga might dress like Róisín, but her music is years away to being as good.

Róisín's style is always funky and extravagant, yet very classy. She mixes textures and loves to play with volume and colors. She is also the favorite of big-name designers like Gareth Pugh and Viktor & Rolf, at whose Spring Summer 2010 show she recently performed. What is most impressive about Róisín's style is probably the fact that she is always her own persona anywhere and at any time. How can we forget the image of her taking a dump in that enormous Gareth Pugh outfit in her "Overpowered" video? For all you Róisín fans out there be ready for her new album coming out soon.
